Strategic goals
- Sales growth aiming to reach 20 million EUR sales in 2014.
- Change the sales structure within ten years for the benefit of the other parts of the world (50 % EU with Russia and 50 % other parts of the world).
- Increase faster the sales growth level per employee than the sales growth level on average for 20%.
- Reduce the external losses costs for 50% to 1.5 % at maximum in sales up to 2014.

The founding and growth of the company
Gostol-Gopan d.o.o. was founded in 1992 but we can say it was founded on 26th October 1947, when the municipality registered the following name: Okrajno mehanično podjetje Solkan (District mechanical company Solkan). In this year, a group of workers moved the machines and equipment from the Josip Strukelj's workshop on the Italian side of Gorica to the Slovenian side and a spectacular growth of machine building and foundry began in the Gorica region. The years to follow have witnessed how the humble workshop evolved into a modernly organized system GOSTOL - goriska strojegradnja in livarstvo (Gorica' machine building and foundry). In the early period of its existence, the foundry, as the only such factory throughout the Primorska region, supplied with castings the whole industry, especially the brickworks factories, cement and lime factories, as this was the period of reconstruction, when all priorities have been given to the production of construction material.
The company was renamed into "Livarna Strukelj-Solkan" (Foundry Strukelj-Solkan) at the end of 1948. This was the time of old machines' replacement with new ones and the improvement of the technology. The next milestone for Gostol is 1960, when the company moved from its original location in Solkan to the all new production and management facility on the Provomajska street in Nova Gorica. The company kept its steep pace of expansion and production program enlargement throughout the 60's and 70's reaching the number of 1800 employees, 5 programs and facilities on 3 locations: Tolmin, Idrija and Nova Gorica.
As all machine building factories and large Slovenian giant systems, also Gostol fell into a deep crisis in the period between the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's. The management has succeeded to withdraw from the system at the time the most successful and promising program - Alimentary equipment (now known as Bakery equipment) and started to rebuild the company on new foundations. A new company was formed: Gostol-Gopan and hence why 1992 is the official starting point of the today's company. The company took over the employees, facilities and other business resources from the predecessor and performed a relatively painless transition of the business onto the company as it is known today.
Modern Gostol-Gopan d.o.o. is facing a steep growth in the past 5 years, is expanding its activities in the program of Process equipment, it has opened 2 representative offices abroad (in Moscow and Kiev), 3 daughter companies, a number of agents and dealers across Europe and beyond. In a few words, the company is anchored deeply in the international waters. Products are sold under its own brand name Gostol.
Gostol-Gopan d.o.o. is a limited liability company owned by the GOPEK d.d. corporation. The shareholders of the latter are Gostol-Gopan's employees, as well as former employees who were actively working for the company at the time of the corporation's founding on 30th December 1994.
